Based on two days ... worth the hype. This place rules as far as i can tell. Cocoa and Melbourne are close to where im staying but flat. NSB is actually weak as well but Ponce inlet is solid 3-4 foot every day and 45 minutes north. it just keeps breaking while elsewhere is flat - water is 78. Uncrowded DP and evening seshons.
Sunday Evening Shots...SS Ponce Inlet.
Waves breaking inside Ponce Inlet
Monday morning shots, same spot

| Isn't it real sharky...may explain the less crowded sunrise/set sessions. |

I have a different explanation...laziness.
You can drive on the beach from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. no drive on access before or after. It looks to me like most ppl just wait until 8 a.m. and drive on rather than showing up at dawn like i do and having to park in a lot and walk the 1/2 mile out to the beach...
I have to admit...driving on with all your gear, (and wife/GF preferably in a tiny outfit), and cruising around in search of an empty peak is the way to go. |

Another fun session tonight...2-3 foot and rippable at sunset. Mushy A-frames with schwackably lefts. I was the last guy in the water and the beach was empty...and it wasnt even dark yet but i kind of got creeped out. Couple of non surf shots i took the other morning.
my buddy in Delaware has a camaro
Too bad you cant pull this off at the Navy Jetty...

i used to surf there all the time, even got into debates how that place was much more consistent then sebastian....
the whole beach would be ankle high, and it would be waist to chest plus...definately the most consistent place you can find. |
